Okay so I decided I'm going to blog with this blogger app, it'll basically just be me using this as a journal or to post pictures of interesting things or people that I see daily, I think it should be fun.
Alright so I know the album actually dropped quite awhile ago, and I also know anyone who is into the band already listened to it, formed an opinion and probably loved it or hated it before it was even released, but. now im going to finally do my review of the album.

Alright so first off i'm gonna say that they did in fact lose Jona Weinhofen on this album and that pisses me off, cause I've been following him forever and thought he was a good fit in BMTH, but yeah onto the album.

Ok so sempiternal is the fourth album release by Bring Me The Horizon and I think one of the best. I've been listening to BMTH since the inception of the band, I've followed them for a long time and honestly truly believe this is their best album yet. This album is probably going to piss off alot of diehard head bangers who cant accept change, but for the people who think a little outside the box, its easy to understand the change.
If you go back and listen to the discography the change was happening with each album release, slowly but surely the band was changing and the final result is Sempiternal. 'Edge of your seat' was raw and nasty, 'Count your blessings' was in your face, hard and gutteral ,'Suicide Season' was kinda fast to the point and a little bit more laid back, and Oli couldn't quite get away with his gutteral nasty vocals so he came into his own sound, a raspy punk sounding vocal which he made his own, 'There is a hell' was a progression of his vocals and the sound of the band, they found more melody and contrast with the blasting drums, screams and melodic guitar solos, we even got some tasty breakdowns and Oli gave us some of what he used to be most famous for. Its safe to say as a fan that from a heavy perspective we may never get another "pray for plagues" but we did get "shadow moses" (which is just an awesome song and little tribute and head nod to Metal Gear and Hideo Kojima) and "Hospital for Souls" (which to me is one of the greatest and most different and unexpected songs from the band) To hear Oliver Sykes sing opposed to grind and scrape out his diaphram and vocal cards into my ear was incredibly strange and refreshing, It was like having an old friend who usually just yells at you non-stop, just lean in maybe give you a small hug and just whisper in your ear.

When you first start up Sempiternal you're met with 'Can you feel my heart'
The closest comparison I have is the opening track with the same title as the album 'there is a hell' overlapping vocals, electronic feel, and a lot of emotion. A softer more open song than you would expect from BMTH.

Second song is the complete opposite of this song its titled 'house of wolves', it opens with "show me a sign, show me a reason to give, a solitary reason to care about your goddam beliefs" this is an edgy in your face song with some in your face anthem style lyrics "when you die the only kingdom you'll see is 2 feet wide and six feet deep!" the song just comes off really pissed off and is a lot of fun to listen to and sing along to. The album then goes on to have in your face songs like empire coming up after this to follow the suit of 'house of wolves' very pissed off but really fun to listen to, it flows further into soft melodic electronic-esque songs, it doesn't seem like it would be good for most who expect what they have come to love from the band, but it flows really well and is a great album to listen to almost anywhere. Many fans could pop this on and some of their friends who don't really dig heavy music could enjoy it.

I could go on and on and give an in depth review of each track, but id rather have the fans listen to it and get their own perspective. The whole album flows really well, you get the whole meat and potatoes, you get some really soft melodic songs that contrast really well with Oli's varying vocal styles throughout and you get some heavy breakdowns and chunky riffs and some electronic influence (don't worry it wont be shitty like Asking Alexandria, where they feel the need for a dance party in the middle of a fucking song)
To actually kick back and just listen to the evolution of the bands sound and look back at how far they've come to get to where they are now, its incredible, and to hear Oli sing is just intriguing, I truly enjoy this album and hope that some hardcore metal fans give it a try and yeah let me  know what you think of it.

Some tracks to look out for on the album

Shadow Moses
Can you feel my heart
Hospital for souls
And the snakes start to sing

Whether it’s those long winter nights or an endless supply of Molson Canadian, a new study from Toronto’s Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) pins Canada among the world’s heaviest drinkers.
The study, published online this week in the journal Addiction, claims Canadians drink more than 50 per cent above the average of our fellow earthlings.
Data from 2005 showed Canadians to knock back 9.9 litres of pure alcohol per person each year compared to the global average of 6.1 litres per person, reports the Toronto Star.

Based on CAMH’s statistics, this places us in a heavyweight category that includes Russia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Spain – populations that have traditionally had far more practice in the drinking department.
Researchers, who studied alcohol consumption in 241 countries, were looking to establish patterns in the relationship between alcohol and the global burden of disease.
They learned that alcohol is now the third leading cause of death worldwide, exceeded only by high blood pressure and smoking.
"Alcohol consumption has been found to cause more than 200 different diseases and injuries," the study’s lead author Kevin Shield says in a press release. "These include not only well-known outcomes of drinking such as liver cirrhosis or traffic accidents, but also several types of cancer, such as female breast cancer."

Shield and his team analyzed data on alcohol consumption by country from 2005. They then estimated figures for 2010 by looking at sales and production data, population surveys and unofficial alcohol consumption records.
Unfortunately, the researchers calculations for both years only included what went on record. Nearly 30 per cent of alcohol consumed in 2005 went unlisted, whether it was a home-brewed concoction that could knock out a field of cattle or illegally produced alcohol reminiscent of prohibition days.
"The amount of unrecorded alcohol consumed is a particular problem, as its consumption is not impacted by public health alcohol policies, such as taxation, which can moderate consumption," says Dr. Jürgen Rehm, study author and director of CAMH's Social and Epidemiological Research Department.

The researchers also noted unhealthy drinking practices in regions like Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa where people often drink to intoxication, go on alcohol binges and don’t eat while drinking.
By contrast, people in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia consumed the least alcohol.
Here in Canada, we are noted for binge drinking.
But it’s important to note that in a 2011 World Health Organization study on alcohol consumption, Canada didn’t even crack the top 25. Either we’ve spent the last year or two catching up, or the study’s conclusions need to be taken in a larger context of other research.
That doesn’t mean we should be relaxed about practicing smart drinking habits, like putting a cork in it when you’ve had enough, not consuming alcohol on an empty stomach and never getting behind the wheel after a night of drinking at the bar.

Ok, so everyone has a list of things they want to do before they die, and I was watching the movie "The Bucket List" and talking to a friend of mine about becoming an astronaut and decided that I wanted to do a small blog post on 5 of the things I want to do very badly before I die. I also realize that some of the people who come to my blog may already be too old to do any of these things, sucks to be you.

1. Astronaut Training- Who hasn't seen the video of the dude walking on the moon, hopping while hes walking and just floating and shit, that looks so awesome, or the bad ass videos of the training where there's zero gravity and they're just floating around in the space ship eating jello and playing catch, I want that. I wanna be a fucking astronaut! Or...or! just master chief from halo, strait up.

2. Be in a band! Who hasn't seen a music video or watched a show and not said, I could probably do that or I would love to do that! One of the things I want to do before I die is be in a fucking band, the ideal job would be to be a vocalist, but honestly Id settle for being a moving prop on the stage if it meant I was some integral part of the band. "Dude that fucking tree prop on the stage is holdin it down!" "For sure!"

3. I want to go bungee jumping. I am afraid of heights so i feel this would be a kickass way to fight my fears and also it would be fun as hell I think. Unless the number of terrible things that have happened ever happened to me. Like if the cord snapped and I fell into rushing rapids filled with crocodiles, thatd be fucked right up....oh wait what?

4. I want to be an Oscar winning actor, want to be, but would honestly settle for being an extra in a movie or the black guy that dies first. Honestly, this is something I need to do before I die I don't even care if I get dialogue in the movie, if I did get dialogue I would want it to be something like "Wow that bullet just barely missed my face....." and then splat or something like that.

5. I want to fly a helicopter, strait up, nothing funny, I just feel like after the holidays having played with a remote control helicopter for a substantial amount of time, that I would be an excellent pilot and people could trust me with their lives. Seriously, dont worry...I got this, its practically the same thing anyway.

Alright first up, one of my all time favourite bands In Flames, not many vocalists can hold up next to Anders Friden, and he proves why in this performance, just incredible.

Second up, Killswitch Engage, Howard was one hell of a vocalist and his legend will live on, whats not to love in this performance? You got Adam D rockin a cape doing push ups in between riffs and Howard just owning that crowd, check it out.

Its so hard to find a great quality video of these guys, but if you've seen them live you know that they deliver consistently great shows. Such powerful performances and an amazingly talented band, they released their debut album when they were 16, I was at this show and have to share it, Protest the hero.

Thats it for now, sorry for the long time in between posts
